Here are the fabulous images from our Rock The Frock competition! We are so excited to show you all!
It was a competition we ran on our Facebook page for 2 brides to win a Rock The Frock shoot with us. The 2 lucky winners, Emma and Sian, put on their weddings dresses once again for an exclusive shoot at the stunning Chicheley Hall. As you can see they both look amazing and were a joy to photograph. We didn’t ‘style’ the shoot we wanted the surroundings to do that for us. We were lucky to be granted access to most of the rooms at Chicheley Hall so we were spoilt for choice. It’s a beautiful place to have your wedding, everywhere you turn there is a photographic opportunity waiting to happen. It’s atmosphere is grand but not over powering, it feels homely and welcoming – like you could just drape yourself in one of the massive windows or twirl around on the tiled entrance hall floor!

So we did just that!

We invited the very talented Karen from The Allium Design Company, who we recommend to all our couples looking for a great flower designer. We were so stoked that she said she would come along, we asked her for 2 bouquets but this lovely lady is brimming with ideas. Her Range Rover was packed with anything you dream up! She also didn’t mind that we ripped up her avalanche roses & dropped them over our girls from the balcony, she even picked them all up!!!! Thank you so much Karen!

So if you are getting hitched at Chicheley and haven’t booked your photographer yet, get in touch, we have a special rate for you!

Enjoy the images, we are!!!

To theme or not to theme? We would prefer to say ‘style’, your style and to style.
Part of the fun of putting together your wedding is the hunting for the exact colour of rose or shape of vase that works beautifully with your chosen style. This must be a girl thing………………..it involves shopping!!!
A carefully chosen theme that reflects your style and is personal to both of you can add that extra element to your wedding that people will remember.

We are looking at the vintage theme in this post as it has exploded for wedding decor. It’s very popular and done well suits a wedding party down to the ground. Oh and we love it!!!
A word of warning, theme is not is not clever when you ‘buy it off the shelf’ though.
We love to see carefully chosen pieces that are actually vintage especially when you use them in a creative way. Check out our expanding Pinterest boards http://pinterest.com/reniraandjane/

These avalanche roses were left over from our Rock The Frock shoot at Chicheley Hall, our wonderful flower designer Karen, from The Allium Design Company kindly sent us home with the left overs. Just another wonderful perk of this job!
Being a bit of a collector, we happened to have some vintage tea cups and a French jug ready and waiting for some gorgeous flowers to be displayed in them.
Imagine the teacups dotted about your dinner tables so cute!

Neil, Katherine and their daughter Matilda set up a little picnic of cupcakes on crochet blankets and Amy Butler/Cath Kidson fabric cushions all lovingly home made.
They were a pleasure to shoot as all three were relaxed and natural and it’s the little touches that make this such a cute engagement shoot. The knitted heart, which we went mad for! (might have to put an order in for some of those!). The lady birds and Matilda’s bear. Being craft girls ourselves, we simply can’t wait to shoot their wedding as they have teased us with these handmade decorations! Well done guys! xx

You can now search for us on http://www.icethecake.co.uk/directory/r-amp-j-photography, no ordinary wedding consultancy. They hand pick their wedding suppliers for their directory so brides can search for just the right people to help them create the perfect wedding.
Here’s our listing;

We recently joined the gang at Ice The Cake and they have used our famous apple shot on their 20 top green wedding tips. Very fitting as the shot came from a wedding that was very ‘green’, handmade and beautiful.

Come and follow us at Pinterest, we’re often asked for ideas for weddings so we’re putting together a scrap book of our favourite. Come take a look!

We had a lovely day at Laines Barn wedding fair yesterday, it was not so busy with brides as the sunshine was amazing, if you were out enjoying it you missed seeing The Barn at it’s best!

However, we did meet some lovely ladies who do wedding flowers and make wedding dresses who we are very pleased to recommend.
Vikki from Liliia makes bespoke wedding dresses and it super talented.
Nicola from Foxgloves & Roses uses what’s in season to create really beautiful country garden arrangements. She had one of our favourite ideas – jam jars with flowers in on her stand yesterday!
Karen from The Allium Design Company has loads of ideas about how to style your wedding flowers to set the scene perfectly. She even gave us this little posy to take home! What a great idea with the cupcake cases!

Thanks Karen x

It’s 6.30am, as a misty dawn breaks, we get the chance to photograph John and Rosemary for they’re engagement shoot at the beautiful 15th century Minster Lovell Hall ruins.
Champagne from tea cups and John’s violin echoing throughout the stone walls, bliss!
